Adolescence is a unique stage of development for children. Our staff includes specially trained physicians, nurses and other clinicians familiar with the needs of adolescent patients. Additionally, our Child Life program offers dedicated staff trained in all areas of child development, to provide patients and their families support during their hospital stay.
Physicians specializing in Allergy/Immunology provide diagnosis and treatment of allergies, asthma and immunodeficiency disorders. These physicians are commonly referred to as Allergists. While our Allergists are board certified in Allergy/Immunology, they are also board certified in General Pediatrics and provide specialized treatment for pediatric patients.

Endoscopy Services at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children are an extension of the Endoscopy Services at Huntsville Hospital and provide our pediatric gastroenterologists a dedicated clinic in which to perform endoscopic procedures.
Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children offers comprehensive imaging services specifically designed for children including X-ray, CT scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), which is equipped with movie goggles to help alleviate anxiety children may have during the procedure.
To help children and their families prepare for surgery, parents and patients spend time in a special pre-operative area that offers a playroom with books, toys and a PlayStation®. If age appropriate, children are invited to drive a motorized vehicle or ride in a wagon to the operating room. After surgery, parents are reunited with their child as soon as appropriate.
