Parking and Tram

Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children

Street level parking is available at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children for patients and visitors. A limited number of metered parking spaces are also available for short visits (45 minutes or less). Additionally, a paid parking area is located on the west side of the building that requires $2 to exit, payable by credit card, debit card or cash.

Huntsville Hospital

The visitor parking garage for Huntsville Hospital is located on Gallatin Street. Parking in the garage requires $2 to exit, payable by credit card, debit card, cash or a token. Token machines are located on each garage level as you enter the building.

Madison Hospital

Street level parking is available at Madison Hospital for patients and visitors.

Tram

An overhead tram system provides visitors free transport between Huntsville Hospital, Plaza Resource Center, Heart Center Inc., Franklin Medical Tower and Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children.

Visiting hours

Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children general visiting hours and guidelines

Regular visiting hours conclude at 9 p.m. each night (unless otherwise posted). After 9 p.m., visitors must use the Pediatric ER entrance and check in with Security personnel. Before arrival, visitors are encouraged to learn the specific visiting policies for the unit they intend to visit.

Adult Surgical floor

Patients can receive visitors any time during regular visiting hours (8 a.m. – 9 p.m.). After 9 p.m., visitors must use the Pediatric ER entrance and check in with Security personnel. Only one adult visitor is allowed to stay overnight. Visits from children should be brief to limit the patient’s exposure to possible illnesses.

Adult ICU

Upon admission, one designated support person will be identified. This support person may visit any time except when the ICU is closed to visitors. The ICU is closed to all visitors from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Visitors other than the designated support person may visit at the following times.

  • 10:30 - 11 a.m.
  • 1:30 – 2 p.m.
  • 4:30 – 5 p.m.
  • 8:30 – 9 p.m.
  • Only two visitors are allowed at one time.

Pediatric floor

Immediate family may visit any time (after 9 p.m. please use the Pediatric ER entrance and check in with Security personnel). Friends and other visitors are asked to leave by 8 p.m. to allow patients to rest.

Patients

Bring insurance card(s), driver's license, a list of all current medications, personal toiletries and night clothes for overnight stays. Do not bring valuables, jewelry or excessive cash with you. If absolutely necessary, valuables may be stored for safe keeping. The hospital is not responsible for any personal property kept in your room, including eyeglasses, dentures and clothing.

Smoking

All of Huntsville Hospital's facilities and properties are tobacco free for the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors and staff.

Our Staff

During your stay, you will come in contact with physicians, nurses and other members of our team such as dietitians, physical therapists and lab technologists. Each staff member should be identified with a hospital badge.
